The route on last day in ON went through waterfront neighborhoods. People living by the lake are mostly retirees, some of them summer vacationers. There was no sign of water sport (e.g., kayaks, peddle boards), no decorations typical of waterfront communities (floats, anchors, propellers, captain’s wheels, big ropes). I didn’t see boats in the water. One thing I can confirm was that all Canada geese did not migrate to the US.
The last part of the routes in ON were the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail and the Friendship Trail. I didn’t find its counterpart on the US side though.
Came back to the US across the Niagara River. The closure of the entrance gate for bikers and pedestrians forced me for follow a road for trucks. I found a turnstile that led me to a bike/walk path on the bridge separated from the traffic. Waited 30 min for an immigration officer to show up in an office specifically for bikers and pedestrians. Rode on the Shoreline Trail along the river to Tanowanda north of Buffalo.
