Day 27 August 29 Glendive to Belfield

Video: Railroad inspection vehicle

I made a mistake not to fill my water bottles before I left Glendive. I found this out three miles after I started and I didn’t want to go back. I had a half bottle of water and four tomatoes which would give me water. The next stop with water supply was 20 miles away. I survived my silly error.

The Hodges Road leading to Wilbaux was unpaved but hard pressed. I had no problem riding on it. In Wilbaux, a lady in a general store advised me not to continue on this road but get on I-94 to Beach and switch to a paved local road (34th St SW). I followed her advice.

I finally left MT, the biggest state I had ridden through. I was in MT for 12 days, 20% of the total trip!

ND is much greener than MT. Even the unirrigated ranches are green. I guessed that ND got more rain than MT. My friends confirmed it. Sunflower fields were pretty, which I didn’t see in MT.
