This coast-to-coast ride was my first long-distance bikepacking trip. The contents of this website reflect my inexperience starting from its preparation and on the trip. I hope the information shared here would be amusing to viewers and, particually, useful to those who are considering long-distance bikepacking rides.
This website includes the following parts:
Riders briefly describes me and my tour buddy, Peter.
Fundraising explains the motivation of raising funds for the American Heart Association.
Preparation summarizes how I, as a newbie to bikepacking, got myself ready for the trip.
Routes describes how we planned our trip routes and how we changed them on the trip.
Journals of the trip are arranged by states (province) and days. Each day is described by its route, notes, selected photos and videos. Peter has a blog that recorded his notes from the trip.
Ride with Afib is for patients of atrial fibrillation (afib) who do not want to give up cycling. I have afib for many years and I have accumulated experiences of dealing with it on long-distance rides.
Equipment briefly describes the bike I rode and other gears I used. I provided simple evaluations for some of them.
Stats lists fun statistics of my trip and a table of daily activities (starting and ending locations, distance, and ascent).
List of Trails lists the named trails I rode on the trip.
List of Water Bodies lists oceans, lakes, rivers and other kinds of major water bodies I rode by and/or across.
List of Places lists towns, cities, and campsites I stopped for rest, food and sleep (not including road site rest stops).
Bike Tour 101 provides basic information for those who are like me before: No experience with long-distance bikepacking rides but want to give it a try.
Acknowledgements gives credits to those who helped me to design and build this website.
